35mm Slide Scanning
TownsWeb Archiving can scan your 35mm slides and film negatives at high resolution and convert them into digital formats, including TIFF and JPEG files. We can also eliminate scratches and speckles with digital ICE technology and PhotoShop touch-up (colour film only), and restore the colour to faded images.
Writing Digital Images To Film (microfilming)
We have the capability to transfer your digital images to microfiche or microfilm. This can be done to your exact specification where you can specify items such as film type, reel lengths, position, reduction ratios, density, fog level and inter-frame gap.
Concerned About Transporting Your Items?
We are happy to come to your premises with our own staff and GPS tracked vehicles to personally collect and return your items.
File Formats & Accessing The Images
We will generally produce image files between 1200ppi and 4000ppi in Tiff and Jpeg formats, although we can produce other file formats such as PDF, PDF/A, JPEG 2000, BMP etc. Images can be produced in full colour or greyscale and we can enhance or graphically restore them too.
Once you have a digital library of images we can help you index, transcribe and add appropriate metadata. We can help you maintain your image collection by importing the files and metadata in to our content management system TWA PastView (or in to your own system). If you would like to provide innovative access to image collection then we have our own specialist ‘virtual book turning’ and library software.
If you are interested in displaying your images online for the public to view then we can build websites or web pages (that sit within your existing website) that incorporate search engines and payment gateways so that the public can find and then pay for your images to be downloaded.
