TownsWeb Archiving are specialists in the digitisation and imaging of items primarily found within the heritage sector.
These items tend to have varying and unusual qualities:
- Old Items of Significant Importance
- Rare or Irreplaceable Items
- Fragile or Deteriorating Items
- Very Small, Large or even Very Large Items
- Items made from Unusual Material
- Items that are not very Accessible
These items might range from old bound magazines, newspapers, manuscripts and books to paintings, plans, maps and drawings. They might also include items that have already been archived or preserved but are not very acessible such as microfiche, microfilm, slides, glass negatives, cine film or vhs video tapes.
CONCERNED ABOUT TRANSPORTING YOUR ITEMS?
No problem. We are happy to come to your premises with our staff and equipment to perform the digitisation on site. Find out more about on site and off site digitisation.
We are also happy to come to your premises with our own staff and vehicles to personally collect and return your items.
EQUIPMENT
We only use FLAT BED equipment which means that no contact is made with the original item and we only use high frequency, diffused and non heat producing lighting - thus eliminating any risk of damage to the precious originals.
OPERATORS
Our digitisation team are specifically trained in the handling of historial items and will use cradles, book rests and a 'white gloves' approach whenever required.
ONE-OFF ITEMS, FULL PROJECTS & CONSULTANCY
We are happy to digitise any number of items from one-off objects to full large scale projects. We also provide a project management and consultancy service to help with the compilation of a digitisation strategy or to simply manage an internal or external digitisation project.
