We have equipment that is capable of digitising glass plates and lantern slides up to A3 (42cm x 29cm). Our staff are trained in the handling of these fragile items and are able to convert to digital format most items – regardless of condition (peeling, broken etc.).
We can restore the images and remove ‘dust and speckles’. If they are packaged in some way then we are happy to remove them from cases/envelopes during the digitisation process. We will also convert the negatives to positives and perform contrast adjustments in order to obtain the best possible image.
We are happy to come to your premises with our own staff and GPS tracked vehicles to personally collect and return your items.
We will generally produce image files in TIFF and JPEG formats, although we can produce other file formats such as PDF, PDF/A, JPEG 2000, BMP etc. Images can be produced in full colour or greyscale and we can enhance or graphically restore them too.
We can supply our software to view and add meta-data to the images. This software is web based which means you can access it from anywhere that has an internet connection. Find out more about our TWA ArcView System.
If you are interested in displaying your images online for the public to view then we can build websites or web pages (that sit within your existing website) that incorporate search engines and payment gateways so that the public can find and then pay for your images to be downloaded.
