Museums & Heritage Show 2018: Free expert surgeries

TWA will be exhibiting at this year’s Museums + Heritage Show 2018 on stand P11.

As always we will have our own digitisation experts on the stand offering free advice to help you plan and progress your heritage digitisation projects, but this year we will also have two special experts offering their valuable advice for free! Read more about the free surgeries and register below…

Surgery Day 1 – Developing cultural heritage digitisation projects to achieve HLF funding: Claire Adler

Claire Adler is a museum and heritage consultant and HLF appointed Expert Advisor, who specialises in developing projects to achieve HLF funding, including writing and researching the applications, activity plans and business plans.
She also specialises in mentoring and monitoring heritage lottery funded learning and community engagement projects (You may also recognise Claire as a regular judge for our TWA Digitisation Grant returning later this year!).

On day one (16th May) of the M+H Show Claire will be offering free 20 min surgery slots offering advice and answering your questions on how to develop digitisation projects that reach and work with new and diverse audiences to achieve HLF funding.

So if you’re developing a digitisation project at your archive or museum and are planning to apply for HLF funding these surgery slots will be invaluable.

Surgery Day 2 – Copyright and privacy advice for heritage digitisation projects: Naomi Korn (NKCC)

Naomi Korn is one of the leading UK experts in copyright, data protection and GDPR, rights and licensing. She is a highly experienced presenter and trainer and has run hundreds of workshops for charities, cultural heritage organisations and publishers.

On day two (17th May) of the M+H Show Naomi, who will also be giving an expert talk at the show, will be offering free 20 min surgery slots providing advice and answering questions around rights management, data protection and GDPR and copyright clearance for digitisation projects.

With the majority of digitisation projects aiming to open up access to collections online, ensuring the appropriate management of rights and permissions is always a consideration – especially given the forthcoming GDPR legislation – so take advantage of Naomi’s surgery slots and get your queries answered by booking below.
